I wish they would update us or something … although there is nothing to update about right now.

On another thread they put Dartmouth among the schools not going to the waitlist this year. Are we being fools staying on the waitlist and hoping that they let open one seat for the waitlist?

I feel that it’s pretty much over. Harvard didn’t accept too many kids off their wait list and other top schools followed the same trend. Dartmouth like REALLY overenrolled this year. I find it appalling that Dartmouth left us to suffer this long.

My wife’s friend’s daughter was accepted off the waitlist and will be attending Dartmouth. Received a letter on May 15. Surprised me given the numbers posted above.

Was she just an exception or is this a sign that Dartmouth is actually going to take people off the waiting list? They haven’t mailed anything about terminating the waiting list yet, which many other colleges already have done. Wishful thinking of course.

“While the ultimate number of new students is still undecided, Laskaris said that the final size of the incoming class could increase by between 50 to 100 students compared to last year.”

Anyone know about this? This could affect the waitlist, if they did decide to increase the class size closer to the 100 students, and their estimated 60 kids did decide to take the year off or got off the waitlist at another school.

I remember reading that they’re not going to decide whether to increase class size or not until, like, July. So if that does happen… we might see some late waitlist activity.
