Dartmouth 2023 Applicants Discussion

How do you guys know the results are coming out Wednesday?

Has any international observed any date change?

anyone with 11/7 CSS and 11/26 for other fin aid?

Again, I’m almost glad we aren’t applying for aid so we don’t have to endure this nonsense!

@homerdog – Agree. Although after seeing all the rejections pile up on the Stanford thread, and having seen all the deferrals/rejections at Dartmouth on the 2022 EA thread, I have doubled down on trying to prepare our D for a likely deferral/reject. Hoping for the best here, but the numbers do seem against us!

@Hopper2019 S19 applied RD so we have some time to wait…

Anyone here from the Chicago area and invited to the Dartmouth Alumni Holiday Luncheon?

@homerdog – Lucky you!

@Hopper2019 the email invite says that it’s no indication of acceptance. It’s for local alums and prospective students. It’s a sit down lunch and there are four current students talking about their experience during lunch. It’s on a school day during the week of finals but I think we will go. Not sure who they sent invites to. We do know one Dartmouth alumni so maybe alums are allowed to give a list of kids they know applied. I’ve heard of alumni groups having things like this for accepted students in hopes of swaying them. But this just seems like an annual holiday party and they invited prospective students so they can learn more about the school. We haven’t visited so I think it’s a fine way for S19 to hear from students and talk to alumni. I hope there are some young alums there. It would be good for him to meet kids who graduated recently and see what they are doing.

@homerdog – Did your D apply ED anywhere? If so, best of luck!

@Hopper2019 nope. 11 RD. One EA. March will be nuts!

@homerdog – Ha! Yes! Good luck!

How do y’all know decisions are coming out on Wednesday?

@123bruhwhat22 – An OP called Admissions. They told the OP 12/12. And last year they cam out around 4 pm CT, so we are surmising 12/12 at 4 pm CT.

I’m really hoping that the date changes for FAFSA and CSS won’t mean anything… Mine haven’t changed at all (from 11/7) and I haven’t received any emails about any sort of financial aid.

I’m assuming about a 16% accept rate for unhooked applicants. So we probably all need to prepare for deferral/rejections… the numbers don’t lie unfortunately…

I’m gonna frame my rejection letter on my wall

I didn’t update anything but still got date changes

@Shocker7 @dartmouth2023plz I’ve saw the Dartmouth RD thread from two years ago…there were people who got both personalized emails AND date changes but eventually got rejected. I mean if that’s what keep your hopes up??‍♀️

@Milo321 can you link them? I personally didn’t find any
