@dartmouth2023plz As moderator said, the date change has absolutely nothing to do with decision outcomes.
@Tachanka11 You may be correct. A LOT of people in this thread had date changes and if last year’s thread is any indication, a lot more people will be deferred rather than accepted.
@rhine7567 As of now, I’m pretty sure 12/3 is a good thing, but since yours changed 12/7, that’s probably a good thing too since you seem to be a very competitive applicant
@dartmouth2023plz Let’s hope for the best!
Maybe different dates mean different things, but thinking more optimistically, maybe we just had a lot more acceptances
@rhine7567 yup, hope we both get accepted!
as i read through this thread, i noticed a lot of your css profile dates say 12/12. but when i checked mine it said 12/13. has this happened it anyone else, does this mean anything?
@jellyfishh88 mine says 12/13 as well
Indeed, the date has been pushed back. This is sad
Huh, that’s funny. Mine says 12/13 now as well; they must’ve changed it recently. Maybe results are coming out on Thursday then, or our financial award letters are going to be a day late?
It was 12/12 today at noon. They’ve changed it a few hours ago at the earliest. I’m confident that the decision date has been pushed back.
I wonder why the sudden change in date. I am already so anxious…
A lighthearted note
I’m really amazed about how this year’s thread is so fired up. From what I’ve seen, we have the second most active thread after Harvard. Dartmouth discussion threads have traditionally been very quiet…even last year had a large break between posting periods. There were no posts at all between 11/26 and 12/09 in previous year’s thread. I can easily say that this year’s applicants are much more devoted than previous years and truly love Dartmouth. I won’t be surprised if a large proportion of students in this thread get accepted.
Ha ha hopefully you are right @rhine7567 but I am totally prepared for a rejection letter
Did anyone else do the Dartmouth Big Questions/ Share your microstory short essays sent through email? If so, do you know if those essays can help you? Also I’m so scared for ED release ahhhh
So if we don’t get an email tomorrow I guess we can assume that decisions will come out on Thursday rip…
@jpdartman I did the 5 short ones, but I didn’t submit the 1 long one… I believe the admissions team does look at them considering we get emails sent back from the senior fellows who read them but I’m not sure how they play a substantial factor in our application
I don’t think they matter at all @jpdartman @Esh3818
I concur. It said so in the email itself.
@Singaporekid99 Don’t stress out too much! You’ll be fine!
Pretty sure I’m definitely getting rejected My counselor slacks on giving me information, and never told me about her submitting quarter grades. If she did it on exact time, I think I had a C due to being absent for a test in calculus and not yet making it up. I should have known better, but my school doesn’t do report cards or quarters so I didn’t think about it. Sucks, but at least I’m prepared ?♀
