Deferred. Too bad.
@123bruhwhat22 it doesn’t work like that. If you are deferred, you are deferred to RD and you find out when the RD kids find out.
ACCEPTED!!! ABSOLUTELY ELATED RIGHT NOW
@homerdog No i meant ED II at a different school and giving up on Dartmouth
Deferred, on a 1460 SAT and as an international. Definitely wasn’t expecting that, thought was going to be flat out rejected!
Rejected which was so expected
My son was accepted ED. No interview. No portal changes. No SAT2s. There is hope, everyone!
stats everyone?
omg congrats to everyone!! can’t wait to see all you 23s on campus next year!
ahaha rejected
Deferred…
This is really extra, but I remember a lot of people using this format last year for stats:

Essays (rating 1-10, details): 9/10, wrote my main one on being an EMT and dealing with mass casualties, saving people with CPR, and car accidents… tried to not make it depressing. The first supplemental was about my ideal day at Dartmouth, lots of very specific Dartmouth detail. 2nd supplemental (I chose the mo’olelo one) was about living on a farm and growing my own food and raising animals and how it really connected me to the planet. VERY earthy.
Recommendations (rating 1-10, details): Probably all close to 10. My counselor liked me and I hope my teachers did too.
Teacher Rec #1: 10
Teacher Rec #2: 8
Counselor Rec: 9
Additional Rec (EMT Partner): 10
Interview: 8/10, about an hour and a half, we really connected about philosophy and cultural diversity.

Weaknesses: GPA, I had a really bad sophomore year with a C and a few B’s, but was due to a fatal accident I was involved in so there were confounding factors.
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I think my weirdness made me stand out, also a legacy.
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: just D.
General Comments: Guys, don’t freak out about grades/ tests scores. I had a C and many many B’s in my high school career, I did make up for it with some really strong ECs but don’t lose hope if you don’t have “Ivy level” grades.
Decision: Rejected
Objective:

Teacher Rec #2: 9/10 chem teacher (both teachers were very close with me, I was perhaps the brightest student in the class)
Counselor Rec:7/10 (eh? Idk, she kinda allowed us to make an outline for her to write. So I am not so sure but she is pretty nice tho)
Additional Rec: Friend peer rec, 10/10 (one of my best friend who is in college at this time)
Interview: 9/10. (alumni) She is coincidentally my mother’s coworker. Very pleasant interview and she seems to be very impressed.
Other
Applied for Financial Aid?: Yes
Intended Major: Computer Science
State (if domestic applicant): Pennsylvania
Country (if international applicant): US
School Type: High ranking public school
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Male
Income Bracket: Around 100k
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.):none
Reflection
Strengths:Very Strong leadership and very good essays
Weaknesses: EC has no international or national award. Also, I stepped down from presidency in junior year (could be viewed as incompetent but in reality there was a rule that prevented us from reelecting too many terms)
Why you think you were rejected:
Okay after reading my stats you are probably thinking: how did you NOT get in? I found out that only 3 people ED Dartmouth at our school and the only one who got in was a girl who is a LGBT activist. She got 1400+, just couple APs total and nowhere near as many awards or activities as I have done. It seems that Dartmouth only gave our school 1 spot, and the spot was hers. In my opinion, all my stats are superior. It is clearly biased but that is just the way it is. That being said, she is pretty bright and definitely more competent than average students . Although this whole thing is not really fair, I am not going to completely blame this on the system. I could have done better to secure this spot and I shall prove myself in the upcoming regular decisions.
Where else were you rejected: None at this point.

General Comments: Study hard and work hard, if you ever get too stressed applying to college, take a step back, breathe, and just realize that even if you dont go to dartmouth, college will be the best experience of your life.
Accepted!
@Tachanka11 the college admissions process is random! Colleges don’t care that much about stats anymore. They just use them as a benchmark to make sure you can do the work/not flunk out—and that bar is probably around a 1400. It’s more about personal achievement, passion, character, etc. You seem like a great applicant, and I’m sure you’ll have many great offers, but you surely weren’t a 100% shoo-in at Dartmouth just because you had high stats. I had a 1580 & 4.0, but I got rejected/WL from most the schools I applied to last year. Don’t be so bitter!
Does anyone know the defer precentage for Dartmouth? Do they just give our defers or do they actually consider who they are giving defers out to?
S denied, we knew it was a long shot, on the lower end of stats, no SAT subject tests because we are rural and actually did not know about these tests, probably not enough APs, freshman year grades not great. Captain of football, hockey, and baseball teams. Moving on. Congrats to all who were admitted. Enjoy this amazing school!
Hey everyone…
If you are willing, posting results on the below page could help potential '24s with their application process.
Same reason I got rejected I guess 33 ACT 4.6 weighted, there’s no rhyme or reason to this honestly.
