Dartmouth 2024 Applicants Discussion

Anyone know when Ivy Day is this year? I’ve heard both the 26th, 28th and even that it will be delayed due to the coronavirus.

It is on the 26th. Decisions come out starting 7pm EDT…

26th

@KrazyKid5 definitely the 26th :slight_smile:

Not sure where I read this, but I’ve heard that it’ll be the 26th.

@HokieCrazy it will, it’s ivy day!

So if all my FA docs were downloaded 01/06/20 and there was no re-downloading date, does this mean I’m 100% out?

Nothing is certain. That said, when did you apply? When did you submit your FAFSA/CSS/FA docs?

@binlee i applied RD at the deadline

@stultussum So your FA doc “received” dates are just a few days after applying & no new later “received” dates. I’m not 100% sure about this theory, as some here claim many get in without changes to their FA doc dates. All I know is that new “received” dates to FA docs MONTHS after the original dates has a strong correlation with acceptance.

Are we sure these are download dates? One of my dates is from November, I hadn’t even applied by that point

We are talking about LL for RD. We know Dartmouth admits ~1300 students each year and ~550 is already filled up by ED for class 2024. If this 500 LL out is right, there will be only ~300 perspectively admitted without LL. This is not “majority” of class 2024 RD pool for sure.

I applied Ed and my dates were all in October. But my dates all say late February now and I got some automated FA emails in early March requiring me to send in extra forms through idoc. Does this mean anything since it’s been discussed on this thread a lot? I haven’t gotten any personalized emails, just all of the automated ones requiring me to send in stuff that weren’t on my checklist before, with the latest date of me receiving an email being 3/7. I Haven’t gotten anything since. I’m sure this means absolutely nothing, I just wanted to add an ED perspective. What do you guys think? I didn’t get any of this during my ED stage and I ended up getting deferred.

I Also have 10 rows listed on my FA checklist, one being a federal verification sheet that I don’t remember filling out, but it says received.

It means absolutely nothing. Just wait 10 days…

If so, why did you post on the Tufts thread about the meaning of a portal entry? This:

“Anyone else have a spot for final transcript saying it’s due June on their timeline with a red x? Does it mean anything?”

A final transcript request is different than FA. FA is separate from admissions, whereas a request for a transcript could mean acceptance.

@Sontrent The point is that you asked whether something in the Admissions part of the portal means something. Others can ask whether something in the Financial Aid part of the portal means something. And, no, FA is not always separate from Admissions. While Admissions decides without knowledge of FA, FA does not waste its time on the 90%+ of applications that are rejected. Late activity by FA - emails, changes to the portal, etc. - have been shown to be indicators of acceptance.

i got an automated email asking me to complete my css bc i never sent it in a week ago–i only sent in fafsa to all my schools adn then realized i wouldnt qualify for aid so i didn’t bother w css. dartmouth responded saying they waived everything and now my portal shows everything is waived (and the status changed from missing to waived 3/–/20) but my fafsa is still “received” on the original date in oct.

^^what does this mean??

^^i also never had a redownloaded date for my fafsa, it was the orig date from oct
but all my other docs went from missing to waived 3/16/20
