I’m gonna go out on a limb and suggest that D2 touch base with the DWRC [women’s rugby]. It’s a “club” sport that competes at the Division 1 level, and the away games in the Ivies (and tournaments) – not to mention the spring tours – add a lot of variety to life in Hanover (as wonderful as that is). The recruiting coordinators are both 17s and should be on campus this summer: <a href=“Dartmouth Women's Rugby”>Dartmouth Women's Rugby;

DH grew up in Philly and isn’t keen to send her off to Penn, so we haven’t even mentioned it. Princeton is a possible, but it isn’t urban, either, and I think that she doesn’t match quite as well, so I think that, while she might apply as a throw away, maybe-it-could-happen app, I can’t like it well enough for her to risk a year of deferral he’ll. :)

We’d really like it to come down to either NW or Dartmouth ED (those seem, on paper and for different reasons, to be the two best choices for a variety of reasons, and are the only two that could potentially yield a better result in terms of admission and money than some schools she’s be fine with) or it will be BC, Georgetown, UVA, ASU Barrett and Tulane EA, with Rice, Dartmouth, NW and possibly one or two more RD. Then, we’ll have to figure it out.

That strategy saves us from a lot of grief and angst, but then it’s a long wait to see if scholarships come through at BC, Tulane, Rice or UVA (which should be manageable anyway, but less comfortable than some other alternatives might be).

Thanks for all the suggestions - I’m going to look into them!
