Dartmouth and notre dame chances

hi,
my top two choices are dartmouth and notre dame. i'm planning on going ed to dartmouth and ea to notre dame. depending on what happens i plan on going regular to duke, williams, middlebury, bc, colgate, bucknell and holy cross.

i have a good GPA (top 5% of my class, 3.90/4.00 GPA), will graduate with 9AP credits (currently an AP scholar with honor), but have so-so SAT Scores of 2030(CR600, M720, W710) and will take them again in the fall. I am a National Hispanic Scholar and have numerous extracurriculars (I am captain of two varsity sports, head of two clubs, and have over 200hrs of community service)

what are my chances??????

THANK YOU

Are you Hispanic? What state are you from?

cuban from ma

Your underrepresented minority status is definitely an asset, but Dartmouth receives many, many applicants from MA. Your GPA is excellent, but your SAT score and lack of extracurriculars are going to hurt. Dartmouth, with the ED, is going to be a reach, but definitely not impossible. The same is true for ND, but perhaps moved down a tier in difficulty.

sorry i also forgot to include that i am business manager for the newspaper, am member of the instrumental choir at my school, am employed full time during the summer, and am a distinguished athlete in terms of accolades. does that help??

also i plan on going regular to duke, bc, midd, williams, bucknell, colgate, and holy cross. what do you think about those?

^I don’t think so. These are very generic extracurriculars, and when you are applying to some of the better universities in this country, you need to set yourself apart from the masses. I would just focus on raising your test scores, because you are, after all, a hooked candidate.

Duke and Williams should be in the same boat as Dartmouth, with Middlebury, ND and BC as a little easier, and with the rest under that.

Being Hispanic helps you a ton. God bless affirmative action, right? (no) But your SAT scores are holding you down. I agree with billabong with your chacnes.
