Dartmouth and Stony Brook

I was accepted into Dartmouth and Stony Brook for undergrad. I know there is no official pre-med major, but I want to be an anesthesiologist. I received pretty good financial aid awards from both, so the cost is not an issue. I live on Long Island so Stony Brook is close to home butI would live on campus. I know it is sort of late to be thinking about this still, but I am struggling to decide which one I should attend. I know they both have good medical programs so its a difficult decision.

UMass Dartmouth or Dartmouth College?

If Dartmouth College I would choose Dartmouth.

If UMass I’d go with Stony Brook.

Dartmouth College

Is this a ■■■■■ post? Go to Dartmouth. It’s a much better school than Stony Brook.

I’m nervous about being so far from home at Dartmouth. Also, since Stony Brook has its own hospital I was thinking its a better job opportunity

Dartmouth has Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and a Medical school.

So what will you do if you get to med school (remember, the vast majority of premeds drop the track) but it’s a few states away?

Weren’t enrollment deadlines a while ago?

The only reason to choose Stony Brook over Dartmouth is money. Dartmouth is vastly superior in every way. Too far from home is not a valid excuse (Dart is only 4-5 hours from LI). Time to cut the cord.

The OP must have sent in the admission fee for both colleges.

It is difficult for me to believe that a pre-med applied to D and got in without knowing that they have a hospital and a medical school.

I f you real person, go to Dartmouth. If you hate being there, you can far more easily transfer back to Stony Brook.
