Hey, LolToasty, congrats on getting into Dartmouth Bound! Don’t forget to join the group I created on Facebook called “Dartmouth Bound 2011”. Hopefully, it will keep us organized. I’ll put up any important reminders or dates that the Dartmouth people send us.

D attended last year - loved it - is not a minority though most attendees were. She got so busy senior year that she didn’t take advantage of the great admissions staff relationships that are formed over the weekend, but does appreciate them reaching out to participants during the fall application season. She learned a great deal about applying to top colleges and competitive scholarships, was admitted to Dartmouth, but ultimately chose Harvard.

Soak up all the information you can, take notes, and be sure to understand the meal card they issue. It’s declining balance. D didn’t quite understand and spent all of her food money halfway through the weekend. Fortunately, she took spending money and they accept cash. The main dining hall was closed last summer for remodel. S is a student and has mentioned changes during the year so not sure where you’ll eat. Some places are more expensive than others but all are a bit pricey by our standards. Just a heads up.

does anyone know if they compare our dartmouth bound apps to our actual applications when we apply in the fall, or do they throw them out and not even care?
cause i’m thinking about changing how i phrase some things on my ED app

well, i didn’t get in. which sucks. i don’t even know if I am going to apply anymore. this was my only shot. congrats to all of you who did get in…
