major choice: econ/sociology

bumpity bump

Well I think you would be a good canidate

Any more chances? Possibly from a Dartmouth alumni or a parent? Bump!

Wow. You sound like a great candidate! Leadership, organizational skills, committment, proficient in multiple languages, scores… My son is a freshman so I’m still learning.

You seem like a good candidate. Your research activities sound interesting. Even if you have a special “in” that enabled you to get those opportunities (and the “investment bank intership”), you have at lest taken advantage of them, and your stated academic interest seems to hang together with the research.

I must say, though, that the 800 on the Korean SATII is bogus if you are Korean, which I gather you are. SATIIs in languages are scaled for kids who have had around 4 or 5 years of experience, starting from scratch, not for native speakers. Spanish would have been much more meaningful. Presumably they will only look at your top two, so you might have been a lot better off without Korean. But perhaps in such circumstances they will consider your third test also.

Good luck, in any case.

Great GPA, great test scores and really good ECs. Dartmouth is wierd so I wouldn’t say more than 30% but that’s pretty good for an ivy. Definitely apply, you have a decent chance.
Chance back

@Consolation Hmm yea, I agree with the Korean SAT II thing. However, I did take the DELE exam which is a Spanish proficiency test aimed towards people of all ages and levels and an “intermediate” is considered pretty close to native-speaking level. Though, I’m not quite sure if that would compensate for anything. Anyhow, thanks for the feed back. Anymore?? And by the way, are my ECs too generic and my IB score too low to be considered for Dartmouth? Bump!
