haha slipper transferred from COlumbia to D. Wait for his post!

yeah, i am still having trouble choosing between the two. everytime im 100% confident on Dmouth someone goes and says something great about columbia and im like ahh help me!!!

Hey guys!

I'll answer this sometime tomorrow...alot of work right now but I'll give a pretty thorough response.

Initial quick response...

What I liked about Dartmouth vs. Columbia:
Better advising
Much more community
Campus life
Loyal alumni (850/1080 came to 5yr reunion vs. 150/1200 at Columbia)
Smaller classes (no 300 person lectures)
less bureaucracy (no lines at the registrar)
Nicer, more friendly administration
More resources for undergrads (lots of grants)
Study abroad (Dartmouth has fantastic programs, best among the Ivies)
Friendlier student body
Feels small, intimate, tightknit
Sophomore summer! (Best term ever)
Much more friendly feeling (laid back, non-competitive)

What I liked about Columbia vs. Dartmouth
More class options (sanskrit for example)
Better in the arts (film, studio art)
Felt more diverse socially
More international
New York (although personally I prefer the campus scene)

slipper: those guys at the Columbia forum are trying to change my mind! They want me to apply ED to Columbia over Dartmouth! :D

Have look at the thread 'Essay Questions' in the Columbia Forum! ;)

There are a few types of people who would do better at Columbia. But overall Dartmouth was SUCH a better experience. Give me some time lol...crazy deadlines at work...

Just keeping the thread alive... I finished my essay! After like four rewrites... But I love it now.
