<p>From what I’ve read, only two people who have posted on CC got in. Everyone else was deferred/rejected.</p>

<p>I can’t yet, band concert is in an hour. I got a solo and I can’t afford to mess it up. But I have huge butterflies in my stomach, I’m so nervous.</p>

<p>Why’s everyone getting deferred?! They must’ve done what we feared…deferred a lot of ED applicants to see if RD is more competitive. I’m actually a little mad, so many of you guys were really qualified!</p>

<p>To those who got deferred, keep your hope strong but your expectations reasonable. I’ll have my fingers crossed for you all.</p>
<p>To those who were denied, I’m sorry that things didn’t work out, but everything happens for a reason. In fact, this time last year I was flat out denied from my first choice school (another ivy with actually a higher acceptance rate, especially ED, than Dartmouth). I was discouraged for a bit until I realized that I probably wouldn’t have been happy at that other school anyway. Then I discovered Dartmouth and fell in love, but I kept my hopes in check just in case everything didn’t work out. I found a few targets and safeties that I really could see myself at, finished all my applications, and tried to put everything out of my mind until RD results came out. I ended up getting into Dartmouth and now I couldn’t be happier. But had I gotten into my original ED choice, I wouldn’t be where I am now. And I’m sure a year from now, at whatever school is lucky enough to have you, you’ll be thinking the same thing. Good luck and keep your head up! :)</p>
<p>i got denied…was not expecting that too. i thought my apps were pretty strong and would at least got deferred. </p>
<p>Because of the 12.5% drop in their ED applicants, I thought dartmouth has a reason to panic and accept more people</p>
