DD accepted! Yay!!!

Congratulations to all those accepted. I got deferred…Feel like a complete failure, after investing so much time and effort.

Anyways, good luck to all those who have not yet received their decision! As for me, I plan on ED II to Swarthmore.

We’re in the same boat @drcharisma

@stilchs4 Haha yeah, but feels bad to have three more months of uncertainty…

Maybe this might be a blessing in disguise for us. We will have a larger selection of colleges to go to.

I’m in – this is so surreal. Will post stats later. Congratulations to all my fellow admits. To all those who got deferred/rejected, I’m certain you’ll end up at the right place for you - don’t lose that faith.

Accepted!! Stats are in the official thread

@drcharisma yeah totally agree with you. Financial aid might be better too…

Then its probably a good thing you were deferred. Swat and D are very distinct cultures. (I can’t see the same person thriving at both.)

@bluebayou I’m applying to a college on the West coast with a very different culture. I think this is healthy, and that going to both schools would let any student thrive, maybe just in a different way.

Remember to withdraw your EA apps to UChicago if you were accepted

@stilchs4 : I think you have a very healthy attitude about this, and I commend you for it. Different aspects of different schools can appeal to different aspects of a person’s personality/background/interests/etc. I applied to both Reed and Swarthmore back in the 70’s, when they had very different cultures, but there were things about each that appealed to me. Best of luck to you.

@AboutTheSame thanks - that’s one of the many things the Common App doesn’t appreciate: attitude.
