***Dartmouth Class of 2022 RD Applicants Discussion***

@quitpro I don’t have the admitted students source code

@“Maschinenmädchen” that sounds way too early to be part of the application process. The commonapp didn’t even open till august. how would they know to send you an email?

in the email that they sent about the decision date, does it say “dear student” or “dear [your name]”? someone on reddit that applied to yale said their email said one while their friends said the other

mine says my name. I think everyone’s does - everything is automated.

@quitpro nvm, I found it, its definitely for everyone under the the apply section on your portal theres a section called admitted students

@NoahBarboza

The first e-mail they ever sent me was May 26th, 2016 (got about ten in 2016). I have no idea how or why (but it is probably connected to College Board and the PSAT or SAT). Then starting on July 11, 2017, they contacted me because I submitted an application to the College Prep Scholarship program (and told me about how they meet 100% of need among other stuff). Then from July 13th to August 10th they sent emails saying that they wanted to get to know me and that I should answer their questions. You would press a link a link, it would take you to a page where you had space to answer their question in 300 characters or less. Here is a sample:

@“Maschinenmädchen” dafuq you didnt even apply yet when they sent those lol

Thanks @sciencenerd123

wednesday is too far :frowning:

@Lemonade22 For three of my responses they personally responded. So I was wondering how many people responded to those emails and if they got responses.

Please note, they have NOT contacted me about a “known” problem with my financial aid so it is VERY UNLIKELY that I made the cut. Being contacted about this problem has correlated almost perfectly with acceptance. Case Western is the outlier, since I was accepted but was not contacted by FA about this problem, even though I received a FA award the same day.

Also, if you have read my regression analysis post, I only have 42 contacts with Dartmouth. Putting them at the exact median for contacts, and therefore squarely in the waitlist (and only outside chance of acceptance) pile.

Only time will tell I guess.

@“Maschinenmädchen” maybe they didn’t ask you about financial aid because you submitted it correctly the first time? i was accepted to UVA, UMiami, Boston College, Villanova, and UFlorida, and not one asked me about financial aid.

@NoahBarboza

NOPE!!! My mother has income for which she did not receive a W2 or 1099. Thus, the income on her 1040 does not add up to what is on her W2s and other 1099s. Since it adds up to roughly 7% of her income, it is something that they can’t ignore and I have been contacted about it 3/4 acceptances, and not for 5/5 waitlists/rejections.

Forgot to say that while the FA contact correlation is not perfect, Dartmouth does not seem to be a school that is shy about contacting students with FA problems. So it doesn’t seem to leave me in a very good place.

in january I sent them a letter of continued interest and some updates to my application. It says “post-decision material” in my portal. I was deferred. Does that mean “post” like post deferment or post regular decision conclusion?

sorry if that is a weird question, I am very paranoid about Dartmouth, as I have been since I applied in the fall lol

also, when you guys click on the documents in the financial aid portal, does it actually display your info or is it the blank form? I have green checks next to the docs like the federal verification worksheet, but when I click on it it is blank and does not have my info…

blank form

@Green135 that definitely has to mean post ED decisions, not RD. If they knew how they wanted to decide for you back in January, the would have just accepted/rejected you back during ED decisions.

@Green135 The same thing happens for me thing. It’s been like that for quite a while, but I don’t remember exactly when I looked at it.

thanks guys that put me at ease a little bit haha :slight_smile: idk why it’s like that
