Guys, is it bad that I didn’t get the email about the deadline extension? Should I assume it applies to me as well?
@RibaldFlotsam I didn’t receive an email either. :-SS
@frazzledazzle Be sure to check your spam folder or the “Promotions” and “Social” folders if you use Gmail. I’m assuming the extension applies to all RD applicants.
Does anyone know how long the peer rec should be? My bff is asking
@happysnappy hi!!! May I ask if the 1/5/17 deadline is for the materials (transcripts, rec, test scores…etc) or does it include the application itself? (supplemental essays)
@bandathlete157 I will. Thank you!
@Chelydraroach I am pretty sure they meant including the application itself, because the email said “…We understand that many candidates will be completing and submitting their applications this weekend. If you have trouble submitting your application, or if you just need a few extra days…”
That would be awesome!!! I have checked the common app deadline, but it remains 1/1/2018…Thanks for the advice!
@ski_racer For all of your schools or just Dartmouth? I just sent all of my scores to all of my schools on Saturday with the “rush ship” option but I did notice that the document deadline for a lot of colleges is the 1st/2nd. I’m really concerned they’re gonna trash the app because the official reports aren’t in, despite me self reporting my scores.
Happy New Year guys! Here’s to 2018!
@IvyDreamfor2022 Just Dartmouth. My application there was a last-minute decision–I added it to my list two weeks ago. However, I sent all my other scores back in early November, and sending them to Dartmouth slipped my mind until the 26th.
@frazzledazzle @RibaldFlotsam did the email end up showing up in any other folders?
Hey everyone! I applied to Dartmouth last night. Most, if not all, of my schools have received my SAT scores, but Dartmouth hasn’t yet, and I’m kind of worried. Is it normal they’re not in yet? I sent them December 18th, so it’s been two weeks. Is anyone having the same problem?
@leerlo Nope. Can anyone confirm whether the deadline applies to all applicants pls?
@IvyDreamfor2022 @ Anyone else
Some schools say all materials must be sent by January 1st, do you think they mean “received” or “sent.” Like, if it is post-marked to December 28th, but it is received January 10th, are you canned?
…asking for a friend…
PS:
Yale explicitly says: “by the postmark deadlines above.” And they will also go off self-report until all scores are in.
Dartmouth doesnt say anything in particular (that i can find).
Harvard says “send.”
Brown says they encourage students to have scores in by their deadline, but that if delayed they wont look at the application until all scores are in.
What schools were you looking at?
Will submitting a lengthy resume hurt my chances? It was three pages long with two lines going onto the fourth… with some redundancy from the activities section on the Common App
Good lord, that is quite long. From my knowledge, most resumes are like one page or two even if you have stuff published and what not. A couple of points:
- Too late to do anything now, so don’t fret about it. Plus, I guarantee that Dartmouth has accepted someone in the past that applied with a five page resume. IF you get rejected, I doubt this will be the reason.
- I, personally, would have removed the redundant stuff.
- I am interested in what your resume looks like and how you could fill up three/four pages.
But again, I wouldn’t sweat it.
@leero I found the email in my spam folder.
I submitted my application last night!! Now all I have to do is put the finishing touches on my supplements, send those in, and finish my music portfolio!
@18YearsASlav I’m applying to Yale, Dartmouth, Princeton, Cornell, UVA, Vandy, Duke.
the spacing was pretty large i guess, and with the format template I used, it wasn’t really condensed. I just participated in a lot of extracurriculars within my school
