@TTdd16 I definitely won’t. Everyone makes mistakes; he apologized like 10 times in his email & offered to reschedule.
@TTdd16 I won’t judge Dartmouth either. The guy was perfectly nice; it was just a little more stressful than it probably needed to be.
did anybody who didn’t get an interview connect to the admissions office to ask for one? How did that go?
@giantoctopus I did! I didn’t go the admissions office route; there were Access Dartmouth office hours, and I called and asked for one.
Hey! Af Am and Environmental Studies applicant here! Does anyone know when likely letters come out??
just curious, when did you do that?
@Kelvin82 Thanks for your response. I can’t find “access Dartmouth” What is that? any chance you have a number or a link? Thanks!
I also would like to know, does anyone know when Dartmouth STEM likely letters come out?
@applicant1313
You are posting the same question on all your college application blogs… Dartmouth, Brown, etc
Relax…,. Don’t put so much emphasis on the chances of a LL.
What is the best way to update the Dartmouth application with new information? Thank you.
@mclmom on their application portal probably
Hey guys, did Dartmouth ever show up on your IDOC as a college requesting your documents? It never showed up for me.
My interview went well today, we talked for around an hour at a local starbucks. The couple was super relaxed and really sold me on Dartmouth (not that I wasn’t already!). I had plenty of questions prepared and plenty more came up from the conversation. I think I made a great impression and I hope they write something positive about me.
My interview is scheduled on Saturday but I heard all interviews need to be done by 2/15? So will the interview count?
@bros20000 when did you have it scheduled? If the answer is recently (within about a week) then it might be a last minute interview, and will be allowed to be a little late. Others have been saying these “emergency” interviews are a positive sign in your apps strength.
@bros20000, interviewer here. No, the deadline for our reports is February18th, so you’re fine. I’ll be working on mine the 17th.
@applicant1313 it got scheduled about 5 days ago.
@TTdd16 ok thank you!
@TTdd16 Hello! Could you please say if you typically write the report on the day of the interview? And do you finish it in one day or do you revise it later? Thank you in advance for your answers; I’m just kinda worried that my interviewer will be limited to complete it super quick cause we have the interview on Sat.
@totallyspies1, I don’t have a typical. It depends on my schedule and on how many students I’ve interviewed. And I can’t possibly speculate on the hundreds (thousands?) of other Dartmouth interviewers and their process. But please relax. The interview has very little weight in the admissions process, and your interviewer wouldn’t have agreed to accept the interview request if s/he wasn’t planning to write the report (which the admissions department will still accept late anyway, from what I remember in previous years.)
Update: I had my interview yesterday! (lol I’m the one who got stood up last week). It went really well, it was pretty informal. It lasted a little over an hour. My interviewer did his undergrad at Dartmouth along with an MD and a PhD so he provided me with a lot of insight about Dartmouth and also medical school because I am strongly considering that path. We bonded over our love for science, and he said that the depth of my involvement in activities that are so different from science and my interest in the humanities was impressive and a good fit for Dartmouth. He also said that my answer to the “Why Dartmouth” question was the best one that he’s ever heard! Woo! Makes me wish interviews mattered more in the process, but I’m glad it went well! Any boost helps I guess.
PS. He told me not to judge Dartmouth based on what happened last week. Exactly what you said @TTdd16! He actually showed up early this time so he was there before me haha.
