They asked you or your counselor?

Yes, but doubt it means everything, everyone else I know also got it.

The email was addressed to my counselor but I was CC’d. I think everyone got it, so I don’t think it means anything.

I disagree. Yes, D is need blind, but that does not mean financial aid packages are generated for all potential students. While they will make sure they have everything they need to compute packages for everyone who applies, I don’t think they go through the trouble of computing that many financial aid packages. That would take tons of staff and work hours!

I played this game last year (look for my posts in last year’s threads if interested), and I can see why they are hiding the download dates now (if that is the case) because that seemed to be a tell. What was not necessarily a strong indicator was a request for docs. They will want the idoc to be complete regardless. But, they didn’t seem to download specific tax docs other than the general FAFSA/CSS unless admitting. I agree that a personal email going through your specific financial circumstances seems like a good sign though.

Good luck, Everyone. No much longer to wait now!

True. They won’t go through the trouble of drafting a personalized email and request for docs 5 days before decisions only to reject someone. It would seem senseless.

There’s been a change in my financial situation recently, do you think it is worth calling the FA office to notify them this late into the process? I’ve heard in some cases they even flat-out reveal decisions sometimes but not sure.

I would probably just wait to see if you are accepted and then if you are you can reach out and discuss. If your financial situation has changed you can definitely appeal the FA after you are accepted.

It’s hard to tell if they will. My DD just got into NWU and $0 fin aid.

You can always provide proof of the change and see what they say. But I think they will consider it.

My oldest friend went there and regrets paying the tuition. He is working in consulting with kids who went to state schools .

It’s whatever you put in and make of your college experiences. All expensive schools are not worth it in some ways. My colleagues two sons went to Harvard and majored in classics
.

Portal now has nothing except a message about when the decision will be available. What is everyone seeing?

I still have the financial aid checklist but i also got a new paragraph at the top about decisions coming out

Yep, same here.

Does your financial aid checklist show dates despite it previously not showing dates?

yes

The portal’s been in this new state for a couple days now for me. Has it not for everyone?
