Did you find this to be the case that they asked questions to challenge students? Curious- interview is coming up soon.
I have had 5 interviews so far and they all had the same structure, hard questions first and then the interviewer slowly warms up over time
Also since most interviews, (all but one so far), were economics or management majors, they tend to ask questions such as:
(These are just a few from my dartmouth interview)
what was the most difficult decision you had to make?
If you had infinite resources, what would you do?
Can you talk a bit about you place in your community and how you see youself making a difference not only where you live currently, but what you hope to contribute to Dartmouth ?
If you didnât go to Dartmouth or college as a whole, what would you do?
What is one issue in America or the world that you want to work on solving
what is your friend group like? What is your role in your friend group?
What clubs or activities are you interested in and why?
My interview last about 45 min even though initially he said the max was 25 min.
Wow thanks for the guidance- these questions are more thought provoking than her other interviews that sheâs had so far.
No - my daughter did not get an interview and was accepted ED. (This was supposed to be a response to a question about whether having an interview matters).
Interview went well and questions asked were not challenging- depends on interviewer I think.
Daughter has an interview next week.
Congrats! Would you mind sharing her stats? Major?
Did anyone have an email sent to their guidance counselor requesting midterm grades? My guidance counselor got one this past Friday. I know that Dartmouth requires midterm grades to be sent to them. But was wondering if the guidance counselor getting an email to submit them is unusual and if it means anything.
I did. I figured they sent it to everyone who hadnât yet submitted them. Our semester just ended so ours go out this week but I am pretty sure most schools already submitted them.
I think it was a mass email from the school. We got several other ones from other schools as well. Our semester just ended as well and school has not sent mid years yet/ they are processing the and will be sent at end of this week or next week.
My daughter had her Dartmouth interview on saturday. She was thrilled with how it went. Her interviewer was warm and personable and asked her some great questions. Whether it matters, I donât know, but it certainly could not have hurt her.
It seems they make a lot of effort to interview everyone if an interviewer is available. Everyone at my Ddâs school who applied was interviewed.
Agree that an interview request doesnât hold any meaning. Our area had a cattle call style interview with several alumni interviewing students.
Hi I just heard that the deadline to submit the interview reports is Feb 22. However, I have a Dartmouth interview scheduled on Feb 28. Itâs just weird idk how to feel about it.
Where did you hear that the deadline to submit is the 22nd? I would think that the interviewer would be aware of any deadlines and would schedule accordingly so I probably wouldnât worry too much about it.
I read about it on reddit, where they asked their interviews about the deadline
Where did you hear about it lol
r/A2C, r/Dartmouth???
It could be that there are different waves with different deadlines or even different deadlines in different areas, etc. I would think your interviewer would know their deadline so I wouldnât worry too much about it. Good luck with your interview! My Dartmouth interviewer was actually one of my favorite interviews. Such a friendly and interesting person and I genuinely enjoyed our conversation. (It was in person and one of the very few in person vs Zoom so this could have been part of it.)
Anyone hear about any likely letters yet? The first batch should be arriving soon Iâd think based on previous years.
We got interviews from quite a few schools but not from Dartmouth, which I am afraid not a good sign. I kind of feel Dartmouth consider fitting in quite a bit, so if they are interested in an applicant, they probably will set up an interviewâŠ.
