Dartmouth Creative Writing

Hello everybody,

I'm a prospie for 2013 and wondering what Dartmouth has to offer up a writer's alley. I'm aware that there is some sort of creative writing program, but really am in the dark about it entails.

Any information about the CW program or anything else to do with writing--seminars, majors, minors, literary magazines, newspapers--will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bustles

Hey, I’m a prospie too. I looked at the Dartmouth writing program and it’s pretty small. Class sizes are usually around 10 students. But it does have some great teachers. In particular Cynthia Huntington, who’s been published in a bunch of literary publications such as Ploughshares and was the former New Hampshire Poet Laureate, and Cleopatra Mathis who’s been published in places like the New Yorker. I think last year’s winner of the Glascock Prize was from Dartmouth as well. It’s pretty solid, I’d say it probably has one of the stronger departments.
