denied....

me too.....

yea me too

3 rejections down, 5 maybe's to go!

yeah... 2 down, a lot more to go. if i didnt get into dartmouth, im probably f'ed everywhere else i applied.

accepted to uva (out of state) and vandy

rejected by dartmouth

WAITLISTEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

i cant believe it either. I am like shocked that I didn't get in. I don't know what else they could be expecting. Near a 4.0, top 15 school, never applied before, SATs in the upper 1400s. WoW!

Were your recs good? Did you give good reasons for wanting to transfer there in your essay? Those are very very very very very very very important factors.

Columbia, if you haven't figured it out many worthy people get rejected at elite schools on a regular basis.

I think they were good. I had some very strong e.c.s And my essays were very good. I am a very good writer (not to brag). My essays landed me into some very fine schools as a freshman.

Rejected, but expected it. Didn't really want to go to Dartmouth and got accepted at two other colleges I like way more. Felt almost relieved I didn't have to choose between yet another one. I'm glad I at least tried though! Good luck to you all that also got rejected. It ain't the end of the world.

But renix, not to be rude, the majority of the applicants are not from Top 15 universities. Just by the fact that I have already proven myself in high school and at a top university along with showing very impressive results on tests should have been enough for me to have been admitted.

Yes, but did you give good reasons for wanting to transfer to Dartmouth specifically. This is CRUCIAL to get in to a school like Dartmouth as a transfer.

i agree with you completely columbiahopeful, i'm in the exact same position

Like I said, people who should be admitted just don't always get admitted. It's not a machine like that.

Columbia, your self-worth isn't defined by an admissions letter. You had far better credentials than people like me -- you weren't rejected because you didn't cut it academically, but over intangibles neither you nor I can speculate about. Just move on and be happy wherever you land, or try and become more at peace at whatever great university you're already at.

rejected...

be thankful because being waitlisted means you still have a chance. not everyone who gets into dmouth will go and the chances of getting off a waitlist as a transfer is, in my opinion, easier than getting off a waitlist as a freshman.

btw: dartmouth seems brutal this year.

rejected but with a lovely letter to go with it. sure everyone got the same. letter that is not decision.

w.e. people, hopefully things work out for all of you! Good luck!
