Dartmouth doesn't care about students

  1. After a bunch of student groups posted a bunch of demands called the freedom budget, the administration ignored them all and instead tried to appease them by spending as much money on the unpopular moving Dartmouth Forward plan.
  2. Instead of combatting sexual assault they banned hard alcohol sending drinking underground and making social spaces less open. It also has led to a greater fear of the campus "safety" and security force.
  3. They make it hard to study abroad except at certain programs that are generally a waste of 3 classes. Although a few majors have good programs most don't and many students waste a term academically doing language programs which are just transported terms. Trying to do a transfer term is extremely hard because the college loses money on the.
  4. The school has horrible mental health services and tries their best to keep suicides off campus by kicking students who need help out of school. The school councilors that are good are overworked and hard to get to and if you need a mental health break you often will not be able to come back when you want to. They don't care about suicide, just suicide on campus.
  5. The dining system is completely college controlled. The private company has no say in the matter, but the college lets them serve worse and worse food while keeping dining dollars from being used off campus because they don't care about students.

Interesting post. This is not the first time that I have read/heard similar complaints put forth above in #3 & #4–although I have no first hand knowledge.

It’s really pathetic that they spend millions on administrators but can’t afford good therapists. @publisher
