to settle the first quarter grades conflict: i just called admissions and they said that they need everyone to send in grades. So if you GC didn’t already send them, I would contact him/her and get them sent.
@jkennyy something just seems off about that. Why wouldn’t they have sent something to all the GCs?
in other news, here is the admissions q & a session livestream video: https://www.dartmouth.edu/~dartmouthdirect/2016/12/applying-to-dartmouth-qa-with-our-dean-of-admissions-and-director-of-financial-aid/
@jkennyy Probs not true cause when I contacted Dartmouth in October they said they don’t require them.
yeah thats what I’m confused about. but thats what dartmouth undergrad admissions told me. If you want to confirm then just call them for yourselves. I am not sure why they were requesting certain people send. @kairos123 @dartagnaneb
when I talked to the dartmouth representative they did not make it seem like grades were required. they just said that they wanted grades to be sent and told me to send them in as soon as possible.
@jkennyy haha that makes everything even more confusing
@kairos123 ik right!!! i just wanna know my decision and end all the stress haha
Does everyone expect a larger number of ED applicants this year or about the same?
@buffalo11 From everything I’ve read (and I might be wrong), each consecutive year there are more and more applicants. That doesn’t necessarily mean that the quality of the applicants increases year over year, just the quantity. There are also those students who just throw in an application to say that they applied to an Ivy League, but don’t have any actual interest in the school (which I personally know some who did that to Columbia).
@thumoon I’m an international student as well. I guess it would mean that the admissions officers have enough information? I mean we can only speculate, but let’s hope for the best
@jkennyy I checked with my counselor, and as it turns out, they did request awhile ago, and he sent them, just didn’t tell me.
@kairos123 I’m half European and half Asian and I live in Taiwan
@dartagnaneb I wonder if the same thing occurred with me. I’ll find out tomorrow.
FYI for anyone wondering about other applicant situations in regards to first quarter grades. I emailed my guidance counselor before Thanksgiving break asking her if I needed to send my grades in. She told me Dartmouth had already requested them and she had sent them. Dartmouth’s requests might just vary from school to school, not from individual applicant to individual applicant, but I wouldn’t know because no one else is applying early from my school.
Ahh thank you so much @dartagnaneb I’ve been looking for that!!!
One more week y’all! :((
@vangab did you send predicted grades or official ones?
So I was mistaken, my councilor was asked to send in grades but she chose not to because they were unofficial and Ihad a missing assignment that caused my grade to not be what it should have been.
