Dartmouth Early Decision Class of 2021

The anticipation for 4pm on Wednesday is too much for me to handle. I’m so nervous

Just happy it wasn’t mine.

Anyways, in reality, the real ED acceptance pool is about 16-17 percent, isn’t it? Recruited athletes make up 10% of the accepted pool, so if there is a lack of interest this year, which could be seeing as how very few people are taking advantage of the thread, our chances may double. I did ED to show interest, and I talked about my interest in the school again in one of the questions Dartmouth gives you.

Edit: Added acceptance to the paragraph.

What I meant by that is the acceptance rate is still 25-26%, but it decreases by around 10% if you aren’t recruited.

@GiddyHiddy Though I’m hoping your correct, I’m not sure how accurate it is to base the number of ED applications on the popularity of this thread.

@CheekyNandos True, every year it seems like more people apply, and I know for a fact that even though most kids at my school aren’t applying to Ivy League schools, they are the most competitive class in history of the school. Woo hoo.

Lucky benefit of my school being a STEM Academy means only a few number of students apply to liberal arts colleges. Think I may be the only Dartmouth ED applicant in the county.

My interviewer was the first Dartmouth student from my county to get in and to his knowledge the only one in recent years.

I’m the only Dartmouth applicant I know, but my interviewer said that every year there’s someone from my county that gains admission, so there’s probably like a whole dozen I do not know about.

Well, I live in a basically nonexistent town, and people only know where I live if I say I am near Racine or Milwaukee.

And only around 10 kids go to Dartmouth from Wisconsin in a year. Around 95 apply ED, I hear.

But at this rate, I will be one of the 85, lol.

@GiddyHiddy Do people around your area know what Dartmouth is? Because I find sometimes that people will ask where I want to go and I answer Dartmouth they have a blank expression on their face.

@mindofbp Lol, no one knows what Dartmouth is. Legit, I believe that Dartmouth is the least known school in the Ivy League. Sorry if my language is weird as I type, I got an American Slang/Arabic/Chicagoan/Hoosier accent. I was born and raised by America.

The chat will blow up in the next two days…

Not many people from my school apply to Dartmouth. I’m from the south though so I’m pretty sure that people are scared of the winter. I’m not though!

@GiddyHiddy This thread has blown up already, wym

@dartagnaneb I think my hunch will pull through that as more people become nervous, the chat will probably hit 700 messages at least before decisions come in. Only thing I am good for are statistics, poetry, and basic human nature.

@sbux>mostthings Same. Florida is A LOT warmer than Hanover and I think most people down here don’t want to give up shorts in December.

Are you a creative writer? I’m like obsessed with writing

Oh yeah. I totally have friends like that. It is getting super cold where I live though. never snows. I just wanna live somewhere with snow.
