Dartmouth ED Applicant Discussion 2025

My understanding is that they don’t necessarily ask for one. It’s something that can be downloaded to the common app as an optional report. It then says submitted (once the counselor submits is) until Dartmouth downloads it (at which point it says downloaded on the common app). It doesn’t seem to ever pop up on the Dartmouth portal. Hope that helps.

So if nothing shows up next to “Optional Report” on the common app, that means our counselor either didn’t send quarter grades or wasn’t asked to?

In all fairness, not necessarily. If your counselor sent it by email, for example, there would be no way to confirm that on the CA or the D portal.

omg im late but ya lmao I thought for sure I wasn’t getting an interview but then my interviewer literally contacted me on 11/24 (the day before the report is due) and I ended up having my interview on 11/25. Pretty bland questions, I faltered a bit but hopefully doesn’t matter too much in the long run!

also did anyone else’s Custodial Parents’ 2019 Federal W-2 Form(s) thing turn up as 12/03 (date change on financial aid portal)??

Mine shows up as 11/25. Either way though, it shouldn’t mean anything since the financial aid section and admissions section of the portal are entirely separate (if you’re a domestic student, since dartmouth is need-blind. Not sure if it’s different for int’l applicants.)

Hey I got a financial aid checklist update 2 days ago. The financial aid application materials was removed on Dec 3 and two new rows were added: Father’s income tax returns and Mother’s income tax returns (in the picture I attached). For internationals atleast, apparently this is a good sign historically speaking from older threads. Many intl peer applicants I know haven’t got this. Did any of you get the update or an email from the financial aid office?!(upload://izMRH9IS2caaL3yPc5rC1NYk8JH.jpeg)

Also join the discord server for quicker communication! We have like 54 applicants

DM me on Instagram for the link: @shaamilol

If the report was due 11/25 then why was I allowed to have my interview on 12/2?

Is it unheard of that a domestic applicant has no financial aid updates and still gets in?

I really don’t think financial aid has anything to do with admissions. Dartmouth is need-blind for domestic students, which is supposed to mean that your decision will be the same regardless of whether or not you apply for aid.

True. It’s just that if you look at discussions from previous years, many applicants who had updates were accepted.

wait so ive heard some internationals saw changes, but are there any domestic applicants who received date changes to their fin aid portal?

yeah i did - the employer form changed to 12/03 and i’m a domestic applicant but idt it means anything

Hi everyone! it’s my first time on this forum. Does anyone know when Dartmouth is releasing decisions?

sadly nope :frowning: normally we’d expect it to be the 10th since Dartmouth usually releases on the second Thursday of December, but with the increase in applicants that most t20 schools had this year it could also be released as late as the 15th or 17th

that’s in a while…but thanks! hopefully it’s soon

I’m hopeful that they’ll be released this week. If it’s Thursday, we should get an email on Tuesday or Wednesday saying so. Also, wasn’t it predicted that applications would be down this year? Do you think Dartmouth will have a significant increase in EDs?

Yeah, T20s had a surge in ED applications since this year is test optional.

So people think decisions come out this week? Last year it was the 12th and idk how it’s structured. Same every year?
