Alright, I’ll call them. Will post here what they say.
I called yesterday, the woman I spoke to said that she didn’t know the exact date yet, but to expect it around the week of the 14th.
Thanks, @ohwhatalife and @gearsstudio!
Hello everyone! I too am anxiously awaiting ED notification from Dartmouth. Good luck to all!
Just got off the phone with the admissions office. The lady I spoke to said she couldn’t give an exact date, but probably the week of the 14th.
So it looks like they’re not being released next week, but the week after that (14th-19th). If Brown and Penn can get them out next week, I see no reason why Dartmouth can’t too. Maybe they don’t have as many readers.
I thought they had planned to guarantee notification prior to the 15th so that rejected/deferred ED candidates would have ample time to prepare other applications
Oh, well. Maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll come out the 12th or so like last year. If not, we’ll just have our anxiety prolonged a lil’ longer - that’s okay, we’ll live xD.
@SirPepsi They can release on the week of the fourteenth and still get it out by the 15th.
Anyone else have midterms that week though?
I’m guessing the College Board’s delay in sending scores contributes to decisions possibly coming out later this year.
Honestly, I think decisions could come out next week. I think the woman that some of the other applicants contacted may just be playing it safe by sticking to the official date because she does not want to disclose any information before the school informs us. I do think scores have delayed decisions since other schools haven’t had a problem. Since decisions have usually come out next week in December, I think there is still a good chance they might come out next week. Yet, frankly, it is impossible to be sure about what they decide to do.
@Saburo I do I have exams all next week and then my last one is on the 15th. Needless to say it’s a very nerve-wracking time for me (and all of us!) Good luck to everyone on exams and with decisions!
I agree with @simonbolivar. I bet the woman was told to say something vague like that since they’re not sure about the actual date.
This may be out of the blue, but what is everyone’s declared major? Mine is math
Well, Mathematics and the Social Sciences***
History
English!
Engineering sciences
I applied undecided.
I applied Biophysical Chemistry and Government, but at Dartmouth you can’t declare a major until after your sophomore year (that’s a huge part of their liberal arts philosophy)
yeah^^ but I did declare the major that is most reflected through my grade trends and extracurricular interests… don’t know if that matters for anything
