Dartmouth ED - does interview indicate anything?

I am solid candidate for ED at Dartmouth but not a likely candidate. I just received a note that I can be interviewed by a local alum. Does that hold any significance or does everyone get an alum interview?

Interviews are just another way for the admissions office to get to know more about you. It has no bearing on how much the admissions office likes your application. Basically, if you live in an area with lots of alumni interviewers, then it’s likely that you’ll be contacted for an interview. If you have a really excellent interview, it’ll help your application but it’s not a guarantee that you’ll get in. Good luck!
