Yeah, right! But I am a really optimistic person, so I have hope in this 0,0000001% of getting an acceptance letter. Don’t you?

To defend myself, I am a girl. At least I am not running away from the ball:D
Call of duty, that’s what my brother plays either, but I just don’t get this game ;D

Your theory about MIT actually makes sense xD

I have hopes in getting an acceptance letter… I just have no idea what the scale is… I feel like I am judging lemons instead of oranges… so I think ,aybe 0.0000001% give or take too On the bright side… I’m hoping that my sister being a Princeton Grad might help in the whole “well they are cut from the same cloth” scenario…

I have a couple german friends who happen to be girls and pretty good at football but I will accept that defence
Call of duty is the easiest thing to understand… point and shoot… and don’t get shot xP sometimes if you play with friends you can use strategy (but it never really works since no one really listens haha!)

It was just a guess… but they also occasionally have a holiday on Mondays… called “Suicide Mondays” - apparently to prevent students from committing suicide harsh don’t you think?

I never said it was easy! I just said the point of the game is simple :P

Yea, suicide Mondays… its something I heard… don’t know how true though. I like it… a free holiday every couple of weeks just cause some poor guy might jump off the bridge or something. Sad, but nice.

So which unis are you really wanting to get accepted to?

Yes, it would be great to get a day off at high school every month, but I would prefer another name :D

I applied to Dartmouth, Carleton and Hanover College (and Columbia University, but I was rejected). I hope to get into Dartmouth. I like Carleton and Hanover as well, but if I can choose, I will definitely choose Dartmouth over them.
I will apply to universities in Germany as well. What about you? :)

I’ve applied to;
Princeton
MIT
Dartmouth
Cornell
UChicago
Duke
CalTech
Stanford
UPenn
Rice
Stevens institute of technology

Mainly hoping for VIPER at UPenn, Princeton or MIT… though I seem to be getting along with a couple of the fellow Dartmouth Applicants :P

Which German universities? One of my friends is in Maastricht (though I think that might count as Netherlands since its like right on the boarder…) :)

They may be amazing… but right now I am S****** myself! The only one I feel I’ll probably get into is Stevens (which even then I barely want to get into) *** :P

Nice! Suppose that helps… you can check where you get accepted before you decide on US or Germany :D

Yea, she says that it is soooo much fun, always something going on. Nice area with nice people. Obviously work is still pretty difficult as at most universities, but it doesn’t seem unbearable. She says I should come… we keep joking that we will destroy the place, get her kicked out and banned from the area xP haha
So yea, I think she likes it there… :P

@MRU93RAITH - Im in a similar situation as well!! Applied to Princeton, UPenn, Dartmouth, Columbia, Northwestern, UIUC, CWRU & Drexel. And the only places I am pretty sure of getting into are CWRU & Drexel – but I don’t really want to go there!!

@Sunny12 - Haha!! I too feel golf & cricket are equally boring!! But yet they are sports - and I love sports!! :)

@guyinblue - Haha!! We have a lot in common - football, photography, PS3/XBOX, Bluff & cars!!
Any chance that you like trekking as well?? :p

Any of you been accepted/deferred anywhere ED/EA??

I didn’t apply ED/EA anywhere!! I should have though, my chances would have been a bit better than what they are now ~ 0% !! :p

rishav17 and MRU93 - Ill join the list too, applied to Ivies (places Id love to go to), while I think I have the highest chance at Grinnell and/or TrinityU, and I am not really enthusiastic about either Just one Ivy with a full ride god. Is it too much to ask for? :p

@rishav17 - Haha yes I realised that too. Trekking? Sadly havent tried it Yet. I really want to but I cant, pretty much inaccessible for me.

Looking back, I too shouldve done ED/EA somewhere, wouldve had a teeny bit more chance. More than the current odds. Which is almost 0 chance of being admitted -_-

Sunny12 - Golf has to be THE most boring sport EVER. Its just so slow. Boring. Idk just doesnt sit right with me :P

such a late entry but pre boards have ruined life and kept me off the internet -.-
Country:India
Intended major:Intl relations
Also a very serious swimmer here. :D

@rishav17
It depends on your major
International business/ international management for example is taught in English and a part of it is taught in French or Spanish (depends on which language you choose).
There are majors that are completely in english, too :)

I hope there won’t be many German applicants :D

@Rishav
Nope, no EA/ED - mostly cause I still haven’t decided where I WANT to be its a toss up between VIPER at Upenn, Princeton and MIT… If I get accepted to all through I will be the happiest (and saddest person)- sad cause I’ll have such a tough decision ahead of me… well “tough”

@ EVERYONE!
Golf is loads of fun with a few friends… but only to play - military should start using golf games as a form of torture (obviously mixed with sleep deprivation)

@Sunny
I’d love to go to some of the European universities, I’m just nowhere near fluent enough in any of the languages to do well (obviously amongst the top - there are english ones/international in some countries… just not brilliant). But I think you might enjoy Maastricht - my friend certainly does :)

Far too many Indians… I feel like I’m still here in Mauritius! All we need are a few more French and Chinese and we will be set haha.

Welcome to the new comers! Hope you guys enjoy the thread. We really need to build this international applicant group :)

@Lefty
Awesome - swimmers are always welcome (but I’m not biased at all clearly… xP ) What is your stroke and best times/distances for it? If you read earlier you’ll see my times and PO’s

Well I like to think I am the only Mauritian applicant (if I count as Mauritian… I have permanent residency here and its my only home? otherwise I should count as South African - which hopefully also works for me…)

@Sunny
I couldn’t find any engineering majors taught only in english… even the majority :s I could deal with a little french… but not mostly a different language. (its taken me 13 years to pick up french, and I still barely speak it fluently just proficient enough in some circumstances… disappointing )

Really? I don’t know how it is in other EU countries, but German universities kind of suck.
No one cares how you spent your freetime. They only look on your grades. And the kids with the most A’s and B’s get in. US schools have this amazing school spirit, you won’t find that in Germany. :D

What languages do you speak? French and English? I will look for you, and let you know if I find something ;)
