Haha lemming…wanted to but didn’t apply…so some relief today…and Rishav…how is Case exactly…in engg??(I wanted to apply there…but I was a little late;))

Sad to hear about your waitlist and rejection lboss and rishav. Dont worry. Ivy day’ll be better believe me.

Also. To everyone here. Colleges do matter for undergrad yes, but what is most important is your drive and hunger to learn. Qualities that are abundant in people on this thread. So dont feel dejected about decisions, because I BELIEVE IN YOU GUYS. No matter where you people go, you’re gonna do just great. Because you have it in you. You have the drive and the hunger. :)

Okay, too long of a speech i guess.

PS : @Blue…the hunger is really getting to me these days;)

Haha Quiver. Me too.
Love your sense of humour bro :D

@French
I think you meant me, not Rishav? Parce que je parle fran

Just in case anyone thought differently, I don’t actively take Xanax! I use it for my fear of flying, but that’s it! :P

@MRU93RAITH oh good luck, let us know!! :)

Haha PO! ! Just incase we thought you did?

And fear of flying? That is a shame :(

@Lemming
Will do when I find out It will be in the next few days (they claim Mid-March)

Well the CalTech decision just came in… but as I expected rejected was worth a shot

Duuude, it’s the worst thing ever. But Xanax really does help, spaces you out like it numbs your mind out, there are literally no thoughts in your head, silence. Trippy stuff.

@blue - Haha!! That was like one of the speeches at team huddles going into a football match that we’re not favourites in!! :p

@frenchissma - You got me confused with Raith!!
And well, if CWRU & WUSTL decisions are anything to go by - you never know what happens!!

@quiver - Case is upcoming in engineering!! It has good resources/facilities and a good faculty. It also has a good reputation among firms in the USA. Though it lacks recognition as a top choice Engg. school and is a bit low on global rep!

I frankly was considering Case as a realistic option!! Hoping that it would award me some good merit scholarship!! Now, I doubt applicants admitted off the waitlist are awarded merit aid - so I’m kind of screwed!! :/

Haha, never tried it - but then again I haven’t had much need of it for anything don’t suffer from stress really, don’t suffer from fear really either…

@PO
You are afraid of flying? Well, I prefer driving by car over flying but that’s just because of the luggage limit :D

@Raith
At least you tried and there are other universities who will be glad to have you! :)

@Sunny
haha thanks not too worried about it to be honest hey, I read a few things about life at CalTech that put me off them quite a lot - I would have loved the bragging rights and ego boost though xP

@PO - Haha!! I was actually wondering what you took Xanax for!! :p

So I guess you’ll be taking a cruise to Harvard this fall?? :D

@Raith - CalTech is NOT for you. And when I say NOT for you - I mean you wouldn’t have fit in with the kind of people that do go there!! You are a more “FUN” person!!
Look at it this way, if they rejected you - it means you wouldn’t have been happy there!! You’ll be happier at a place like Dartmouth! :D

@Rishav
Yea, as I just mentioned to Sunny, I did kinda work that one out (unfortunately after applying)
Dartmouth, Princeton, Duke, UChicago all sound like great fits for me in my opinion… those are the ones I care more about what the decision is
And hey, if Dartmouth means a couple of you (Especially you, Blue, Sunny, Boss and the other great regulars here) well then at least I’ll have a great group of friends! :D

And so far no one on the CalTech forum seems to have been accepted… only one waitlisted xP haha

Haha, it almost makes flying worth it:

me on Xanax, talking to brother

“You know Ted… when you take some of this… err… Xanax… you kinda stop being a participant in life, more of a spectator. Know what I meeeaaan?”

proceeds to stare into space for the next 10 minutes, just reflecting on the complexity of human civilisation

Haha thanks PO for that recount maybe I should try it while watching the Regular show or Adventure time xP haha

I really hope we all get in. If I get rejected I will join the Dartmouth class of 2018 and maybe I see you guys at Dartmouth in fall 2014 - better late than never :D

@Sunny
Late is definitely better than never!
I can’t wait for the rest of the decisions - hopefully having an acceptance from Dartmouth and Princeton! :P
