@caribgurl It goes to show that just because you get in one place you are not guaranteed a place somewhere else… College admissions now are so different and understanding it is mainly guesswork and speculation. So, I wouldn’t let a waitlist status put you off. It shows you’re qualified and talented, just maybe not the best fit for their school :)

@lemming
Congrats on the place at Duke… LL?

Oh UCI and UCSD…:)oH AND rejection at MIT…(AND stanford too:()

@MRU93Raith Yeah, I got an early acceptance because I’m a finalist for a merit scholarship… don’t quite know why but I’m not complaining!

@lemming: Congrats on the Duke acceptance… and thanks for reducing my competition!! :P

@caribgurl: It doesn’t say a thing about your potentials or talents! Don’t worry so much! We will continue being awesome whether they accept us or not, right? :D

@quiverfox: Congratulations, and there’s nothing to get put off by! MIT and Stanford are plain weird. O.o

@Lemming
Congrats!.. Again! (I’m seriously hoping for an acceptance, still quite doubt it though, if you compare my A Level results with many UK students from other boards I haven’t done as well… especially considering not many (if any) people who have done CIE IGCSEs do more than 9 subjects whereas I have noticed a lot of GCSE students doing between 10-15 on average (of most potential students… not national average)… Worrying a tad not too much of a problem though I suppose :P

I’m okay guys. Thanks for the encouragement. I don’t think i’m going to accept the waitlist, but i’m waiting until April 1 to make my final decision.

I am in a positive frame of mind. I am expecting greatness. And for the rest of you haven’t gotten your first choice yet, keep positive.

Glad I can help you guys out by taking myself off of the waitlist

@Raith I wouldn’t worry massively. I’m pretty sure duke takes loads of stuff into consideration, especially you in relation to your school :)

Middlebury’s whole wait list seems to be on this thread!! :O

Don’t worry people. This is totally random ****. I got wait listed at Case Western and then accepted at Northwestern. It is just a game of russian roulette.

@Quiver - Welcome back!! WHat happened??
Congrats on the UCs!! :D

I got accepted into Grinnell! :)

@Pomani: Now THAT is great news! Apparently, Grinnell does not get the publicity it deserves. Congratulations!

@POmani congratulations :D

@PO - CONGRATS!! :D

Grinnell one of your top choices??

Today the college decisions f**ked me!!!

Today’s news:
Waitlisted: Colby
Rejected: Middlebury, Union

Well I really wasn’t expecting all these rejections (Waitlist is a kind of rejection). I think something is seriously wrong with my app. Anyways, I don’t think I’d be having a good Ivy day.

Now I’ll turn entirely towards my country’s exams. I may not come to CC as frequently I have been until today. So congrats to all those accepted and good luck to all those awaiting decisions. It’s been a very nice journey with you all.:)

Best wishes
Abhimanyu (Ya this is my first name).

@hoping - Ohh come on man!! Don’t take these waitlists/rejections to heart!! It’s their loss really. Stay on the waitlist and show them why you’re awesome!

On another note, concentrate on the Indian entrances too!! :)

I still feel that by the end of April, you’ll have at least one or two decisions in your favor! :)

@hopingforbetter I agree with @rishav it’s their loss
‘Waitlist is a kind of rejection’ not at all - it’s a compliment that you are qualified enough to not be outright rejected. They still want you they just struggle for places. Stay on the waitlist and write them a cracking letter to make them ring and beg to have you.

STAY WITH US… your presence will be missed otherwise.
If you do though, I wish you well and completely understand good luck in your many wondrous endeavours

Congrats to all of you :)

@hoping
I am sure you will get some great offers and like the others said waitlisted is not a rejection at all. Just show them how awesome you are :)

@po … Congratulations :)

Thanks a lot guys :)

@rishav haha, nah, it’s my ninth of nine choices, but it’s my first decision back and anything other than an acceptance would have had me worrying for the rest of my decisions :P
