dartmouth interviews

Hi, I am taking the Dartmouth pre-interview on campus in August. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to wear (for a female applicant)? Is it formal, casual, or business casual? I suppose this is only a minor point, but you only get one chance to make your first impression. Also, do they ask you "interview" interview questions or is it more informational in nature?

I'd think you should just dress as you would for a regular college interview - business casual is good. Wear slacks or a conservative, below-the-knee skirt and a nice shirt with sleeves (collared button-ups are a safe way to go).

thanks. that helps a lot.

I don't know about the campus interviews, but for my alumni interview I wore nice jeans, a modest blouse, and a nice, big, happy smile! ^_^ I'm sure that if you are pleasant, polite, and can communicate your interest for Dartmouth effectively, you should do well. Good luck!

Remember that the "pre-interview" is usually held by a senior interviewer. This means it is a Dartmouth senior who has been chosen to represent the admissions office when interviewing high school seniors. Although it is more informal than admissions officers interviews (meaning they want to impress you as much as you want to impress them), rules of good manners still hold. I'd err on the formal side, as xine said.

thanks everyone. i hope that dartmouth will see my personality and love for the college.

Good luck, Mystic! Hope to see you on campus as an '11!!! ^_^

thanks aretsuya.
