Dartmouth or Northwestern for Wall Street

^Just because a school doesn’t appear on any of the 19 profiles doesn’t mean the firm won’t consider anyone from that school. Do a search on google, there are already a few Northwesten alums with experience at Bridgewater just on the first page. What’s your basis that “Dartmouth has a big advantage over NU” in hedge funds/S&T? Are you like an experienced HR person in those fields? Do you know that last year, 25%of Dartmouth seniors were seeking employment by the time of graduation, according to their senior survey?

Kellogg certificate offers arguably the most advanced curriculum in finance at the undergrad level. In the past two years, this program sent teams to compete at the Rotman International Trading Competition; the teams finished 4th and 7th even though virtually all other teams were from graduate programs in financial engineering and mathematical finance. Kellogg cert grads are more technically prepared than many MBAs. Instead of relying on the usual career center for undergrads, they get to use the resources including career counselors at the Kellogg school for their internship/job search.

Northwestern is good, Dartmouth just is hard to top in this respect.

I got admitted to both, and I would definitely choose Dartmouth over Northwestern for Wall Street. Admit rates to top MBA/grad programs, networking, name recognition, etc. all favor Dartmouth. Even my host at Dartmouth was on the fast track to Wall Street. That being said, I’m not partial to either school, having decided to go elsewhere.
