How does Dartmouth's premed program stack up with that of nation's top premed schools such as Johns Hopkins? What's the percentage of Dartmouth's premed students matriculating to med schools?

Like every single other top school in the country, Dartmouth’s pre-med program is very good. Unlike Hopkins and some other schools, Dartmouth does not screen medical school applicants to inflate its acceptance rate. Our acceptance rate is upwards of 85%. Basically, if you’re smart, you’ll get into medical school, and Dartmouth is a springboard to all of the country’s top schools, such as HMS and JHMS.

ah I see. I appreciate the info.

Yea JHU being a top premed program is a myth. You’ll do far better to go to a less cutthroat school with just as strong or stronger overall reputation (Dartmouth. Stanford, Harvard, Brown, etc) with less grade deflation and weeding out of apps. Of the 4 premed kids in my high school class who went to JHU, none ended up as doctors. If they had gone elsewhere I am sure at least half would have been.
