@Mwfan1921 sad but true. On the other hand, being a freshman in a department like this is not so bad, especially if your D19 would be starting in fall of 2019. By the time she’s eligible to work on research projects the new professors will be geared up and looking for student involvement. She could be part of the department rebuilding itself, which has pros and cons. Plus knowing she’s going into a department that is engaged in self monitoring and close analysis of power dynamics within the department could be reassuring.
$70M lawsuit filed against Dartmouth trustees alleging misconduct of the three PBS professors discussed upthread. None of the 3 are at Dartmouth anymore

None of the three is even allowed on campus anymore, I believe.
Administration and endowment going to take a hard hit?
Did the College & Trustees act as soon as they learned about this matter or did they try to sweep it under the rug?
The CNN article says the plaintiffs claim Dartmouth knew about bad behavior in that group for 16 years. I think in 2017 Dartmouth Trustees hired an independent review of the situation which did find improprieties, leading to the resignations of 2 of the 3 profs, and the retirement of the 3rd.
Some more details (allegations) in this boston globe report are pretty shocking, and I am not easily shocked.
I found this somewhat encouraging: http://www.thedartmouth.com/article/2018/12/duchaine-tse-letter-to-the-editor
