b Why you think you were accepted/not accepted and general comments: /b

Honestly, I interviewed poorly. In addition, I really focused on athletics and work, and I don’t really think Dartmouth cares about work stuff. In the end, I would have loved to go but it’s all good.

To all my fellow rejects, if you were a serious canidate for Dartmouth and take that energy to any school, you will love amazing and Rock it. Honestly the ivys and elite schools are really overhyped anyway. Lastly, level of education =/= happiness and that is important to remember ( at least for me)

Reflection

Strengths: Grades, Test Scores, Essays

Weaknesses: Lackluster Awards & Extracurriculars

Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: Don’t know.

Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected:

Accepted: Amherst College (Attending), Middlebury College, Vassar College, Davidson College, Bates College, University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, North Carolina State University - Raleigh, University of North Carolina - Asheville

Waitlisted: Williams College, Bowdoin College, Colby College

Rejected: Harvard University, Princeton University, Yale University, Stanford University, Dartmouth College, Brown University

General Comments: I didn’t mention the main thing that made me unique (my life-long experience with Asperger’s Syndrome and how it has shaped my world view) because I didn’t feel like it fit in well and heard that the interviews are mainly just to screen out jerks. But my mom has a friend whose father is a former Dartmouth alum and interviewer, and what I learned they did for interviews (which I did not learn until after I was rejected and is what my group of alumni interviewers also did) was join together and interview everyone from the area in one location on a single day. All the interviewers would then rank all the students interviewed from least desired to most desired. So, for Dartmouth, make sure you put everything out there during your interview.
