dartmouth research internship

If I did a dartmouth research internship and got a good letter of rec, as opposed to a research internship at princeton & rec....would that make a big difference in college admission??

I heard from some that doing something at dartmouth over the summer and writing about it could boost apps by a lot...

however,, I also want to be closer to home while doing an internship...

thx

when it comes to college…look for common sense.
Yes an internship at CC top universities and ivy leagues will impress the colleges you end up applying to but if school stats aren’t great…then I’ll say the internship was a nice experience at the least; if not helpful for admissions.
If you have the average stats for the college of your interest and you do the internship that will boost your chances increasingly…but closer home will be better, as you will spend less money, and even make some on the way.
Preferably…I’d go with a college near me where I have the advantage to get to know my professors well and then continue a long term research with them throughout my academic year. (P.S. colleges like it if you do something for a longer period and stick to it because that develops and portrays your passion for the subject and creates more personalized recs from the professors)

GO WITH YOUR GUTS and keep in mind what I have said here

You don’t have good scores and you go to Princeton for internship…little use of it.
