Hi everyone I'm ED-ing to Dartmouth this year. I want to submit my research paper along with my application, but I can not find anywhere to upload it on common app. Can anyone help me? Thank you very much!

If you want to submit additional materials of that sort you will probably have to send a copy via snail mail with a short explanatory cover letter. I suppose you could email it to admissions, but I don’t know how enthusiastic they would be about lengthy attachments. In all likelihood, they would send such a paper to the relevant department for an opinion.

You have to have a really good reason to send something lengthy–and specialized–for them to read. Was it published?

My paper is not like 20-page one, it has only 5 to 6 pages. Does Dartmouth discourage students from sending research paper and only allow art supplement? Should I send the whole paper or just the abstract? If allowed, then can I upload it to CommonApp or send it via email to the college? thanks for your help anw :D

What exactly do you mean by a “research paper”? If this is a standard paper you wrote for a class, I’d say don’t bother.

No it’s my independent research. I’m sure that this research is up to college-level, which is of course higher than everything I have learned at high school

Read the advice about research papers and decide. I certainly don’t think it would hurt, but I think if you do send it it should be as supplemental info via snail mail, not instead of an opportunity to submit a more personal essay via the common app.

In your own opinion, it’s up to “college level”. But I fail to see how that’s extraordinary. Others (and perhaps you) have taken dual enrollment courses while in HS and are regularly turning in college level work and research. Your paper, unless it’s been vetted and reviewed by college professors or published in a legit peer-reviewed journal – is simply strange as an application supplement.

Ditto – unless your prayer has been published somewhere, I think that the admissions reps might look at it a bit strangely.
