<p>You need to submit the Non Filing Statement if you or your family does not have to file the income tax return. Basically, if your parents work in a country where income tax return is not required, you just submit the NFS. And I don’t think students have to submit theirs unless they work. </p>
<p>And, yes, it is compulsory, your parents should ask their employer/s to write a letter stating the annual income for the recent tax year.</p>
