As most of us already submitted our application, I guess it’s useful to start this discussion for the transfer process.
I am currently a student University of California, Davis and wishes to apply to Dartmouth this fall.
Hey! I also applied to transfer to Dartmouth! I’m coming from a community college. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of discussion on transfer threads this year. Have you heard anything since applying?
Did anyone receive an Email asking you to fill a “Dartmouth Supplement”?
Yes, and mine is due yesterday.
On the confirmation page, did it remove all the line breaks from your responses (the transfer supplement essays)?
It did with mine, and now I am worried.
They look like giant blobs of text on the confirmation page.
Common App did the same thing: Way back after I submitted the application, the pdf generated by the Common App didn’t have any line breaks in the essays. But now it’s Dartmouth’s own portal doing that same thing. Arrg!
I submitted mine last week and @OwlOfAthena They probably auto-format it so that every app is standardized. Mine did that too.
Thank you! That feels better not to be alone.
Did your Common App essay formatting/line breaks get removed too back when you submitted it?
I.e., it looked fine on the submission page even after being submitted, but on the generated pdf application all the essays were messed up.
I think it’s normal. Do all applicants been requested that transfer supplement due Apr 1st?
Mine was due April 2nd.
any sense of when people get notified? One of my friends is applying here and is wondering
@thestandard I think beginning of May. I’m not sure if an exact date or if interviews come before. Did everyone get asked to do the transfer supplement?
super excited. hoping for the best.
How’s everyone dealing with this endless wait? Anyone else get emailed last week for any missing items on the checklist?
You didn’t check your list proactively?
@OwlOfAthena oh god no, i’ve checked that list and finaid countless times lol… it was two things that because of my situation, would not be submitted to the application… so I thought they would just remain incomplete. When I was sent the supplements, I thought it confirmed that my application was valid… but I misunderstood and it was incomplete.
TBH I was getting nervous and going to send an email, but they beat me to it. I had a week deadline to correct the items and was able to get it done by the next day.
oh god no, it wasn’t that,*
Did anyone do the optional essay?
This is going to be the longest two weeks ever.
@OwlOfAthena Is that when we will hear back about decisions.
