I want to go into engineering. I live in Canada and the University of Waterloo is the best you can get for any type of engineering. I've now narrowed it down to Dartmouth or University of Waterloo.

I know Dartmouth provides intimate learning sessions and great helpful professors but I can't ignore that Waterloo is consistenly ranked one of the best in Canada and especially for engineering where I'm sure Waterloo has a lot of resources.

How's engineering at Dartmouth? What do you think is the best choice?

Engineering is great at D-mouth..but I think the larger question is do yo want to live your life in America or Canada. I'm asking because I think the University of Waterloo will be pretty much unheard of here...so its prestige in Canada may be irrelevant if you want to live in America. In that case I think D-mouth might be a better choice.

However, if you want to live in Canada, the prestige of the Univesity of Waterloo maybe of more use.

In computer science and mathematics academic circles, Waterloo has an excellent reputation (in the US and Canada). I imagine that the same is true for engineering. If you are interested in graduate studies, an undergraduate degree from either Waterloo or Dartmouth would be a plus, and I wouldn't necessarily give the edge to Dartmouth. For a terminal degree, you might want to contact the schools and ask about the employment history of recent graduates. In any case, I'd suggest contacting the schools and talking to faculty and/or current students.
