I've been accepted into both. Everybody has been telling me to go to Dartmouth no questions asked but I'm slightly tempted by Pomona because of the weather. (I think I have Seasonal Affective Disorder).

Anyway, I am planning on studying either IR or economics and I was just wondering what you guys thought...

Gosh, that's tough. I will be honest- the winter weather definitely has a HUGE affect on campus mood winter term. On the other hand, the health center offers "sun lamps" and I find that getting outside doing some skiing/snowboarding/skating always helps. And it sure is pretty when it's all white and snowy and perfect outside :). Come visit and see for yourself.

I personally liked winter term more than fall term, and I am an uninitiated Southerner. Plan on having pe classes (skiing, snowboarding, etc) in the winter. Being outside helps SAD a lot. Sunlight lamps are cool too. And so are snowball fights.

I applied to Pomona and Dartmouth and didn't get into Pomona but got into Dartmouth. I've visited Pomona twice and it sucks - some of the students are cool but the admissions dept and the lady that interviewed me was so rude. I am now firmly against Pomona - argghhh!!!!
