I want to do biology; which school has the highest medical school acceptance rate...and also, is there "weeding out" in pre-med

LOL, nice strategy posting this topic on all the different boards. For medicine, I think it is a no brainer for Duke. Duke not only has TREMENDOUS placement at Harvard Medical, but it has the 3rd best medical school in the country (excluding harvard and hopkins). However, there is a weeding out process at Duke, but that is only if you are way at the bottom of the ladder. NOBODY CAN FORCE YOU NOT TO BECOME A DOCTOR. You will be fine. See you at Duke this September. lol

are you for sure going to duke?

Totally bogus devil, Dartmouth/ Duke are top med school feeders and both have equal placement into Harvard Med. Cornell does have a reputation for being a weeder, so that is the reason I wouldnt go there. Regardless, I would choose between Dartmouth/ Duke based on what environment you want.

Yeah... there is no "tremendous" placement at Harvard Medical.

Slipper, would it be safe for me to say that Duke/Dartmouth are about equal in basically allowing you to get in everywhere? Yes, let's agree on that, shall we?

It's safe to say you don't want to go to Cornell over Dartmouth and Duke if you're interested in medicine.

Joey

Exactly Devil. You're really splitting hairs here. The difference, if it exists, is too small to choose for this reason.

There's weeding out for kids who want to be doctors but don't know what they are getting themselves into

Isn't Duke's premed like amazing?

I'd pick between Dmouth and Duke, Cornell doesn't have any grade inflation which will hurt for premed.
