<p>I need advice. For someone from the SE US, why Dartmouth over Duke? I really like both. Please give me some advantages Dartmouth offers over Duke. I hope I have to make a decision between both!</p>
<p>There is a lot of overlap between Dartmouth and Duke and it is not unusual for students to ask about one vs. the other. If you do a search on dartmouth vs. duke as there are a lot of threads on both boards (Dartmouth's and dukes) citing the pros and cons of attending each school (Dartmouth students you will find will have something favorable about Dartmouth and duke students will have something favorable to say about Duke).</p>
<p>Your best bet would be to visit both schools, spend the night sit in on a few classes to see which one best suits your needs.</p>
<p>I chose Dartmouth over Duke because I liked the more "LACy" (undergrad focus, outdoors, study abroad, sophomore summer, small classes, smaller student body/ smaller campus (no shuttles), more liberal) feeling. I think Duke is great but Dartmouth is more tight-knit.</p>

<p>I made the same choice this past spring. I visited both and found Duke to be the better fit for me. Dartmouth had really friendly students but I didnt really felt like I clicked with anyone necessarily and the isolation/lack of things to do was a big turnoff. Take a look at both if you're going to committ yourself ED to one.</p>
