I'm torn! I'm looking to go into IB w/ a major in Econ or Finance. Georgetown has easy access to DC, whereas Dartmouth doesn't, but the Dartmouth campus/college town just seems so nice and homey.
Also, does anyone know about banks recruiting at either place? Are they comparable? Sometimes I wish I only got into one school so the decision would be made for me! :P

Dartmouth’s recruiting is widely considered to be far superior

Recruiting definitely is going to be in Dartmouth’s favor. Dartmouth is generally considered perhaps the best feeder in to finance after Harvard, Wharton, and Princeton.

I’m also Dartmouth versus Georgetown, but I’m more interested in law. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

law school is ALL about gpa+lsat. Thus, attend the school where you can maximize both, or that you like better, or is cheaper. (The fact that GU may claim to have a strong Poli Sci department is meaningless to law schools.)

Yeah both will place well into Law school - won’t make a difference. Go to the one you like more!

Dartmouth would be hard to pass up and tends to have better financial aid, but both are good options.

I would pick Dartmouth in the end though, seems like it places better on Wall Street.

Three years ago my daughter had the same choice. She attended both Dimensions and the Georgetown admitted students’ weekend. Go to these if you can! The atmosphere is very different at each school, so honestly one or the other will feel right to you. At least that’s what happened to her.

(By the way, for academics, both are great…It’s what you DO at the school that’s important.)
