dartmouth vs Haas for mckinsey...

dartmouth vs haas for top consulting / i-banking

i am getting more money at berkeley, but i think i want to go to the more academically engaging and intimate place - dartmouth. but i have not yet decided. and for those of you who say haas is better, then kindly further let me know whether berkeley L&S Eco will also be better than Dartmouth Eco.
your opinions / facts would be appreciated. thanks again

bump.......

I'd say forget the money or top jobs, both will get you there. Let your choice of the environment guide you. If you have a strong preference for Dartmouth's environment, go there.

Whether Dartmouth is more "academically engaging" than Berkeley is highly debatable...

yup i take back the "academically engaging" thing, as all i know is through these boards.... so now CalX and others could u atleast tell me about L&S Eco vs Haas for placement

Haas' is better than Econ in terms of providing structure and guidance, or polishing up your presentation and interview skills, but I'm not sure if it provides more openings or access to more lisings too. The recruiting for the top banks and consultants is open for the most. My info there might be a little outdated, I believe that the L&S placement was shored up a little.

ok, so thats a little comforting coz i wanted to study economics (and not business).. btw, how easy (or tough) would it be for berkeley students to get these i-banking type internships after freshman year compared to their ivy league graduates.... sorry for sounding so career / money oriented, but i have to decide - and better compare the tangibles... thanks again

i meant ivy league "students", not "graduates" (nobody graduates after freshman year!!)

Harder to get the IBank internship at Berkeley than at Dartmouth, because it's bigger and most of these firms have more presence back east. Berkeley is better for VC/tech though.

Econ: Berkeley has the better faculty by far (Nobels etc) but Dartmouth is definitely more intimate. this being said, Berkeley is not the factory it is often portrayed to be:

I'd say forget about all this and just go to the campus environment you find more appealing. You will be successful at either school, it sounds like you have the motivation...

How often do pre-2nd year college students get I Banking internships from any school?
