does anybody have any input as far as dartmouth v. stanford??

i would choose stanford, not sure y. just instinct. it really depends on factors that are unique to you.

I talked to a human biology grad from Stanford, and he said his intro science classes were around 200. Have fun with that. He was a pre-med. Dartmouth has significantly lower class sizes.

photogirl tell us a bit more about your interests and what you’re looking for in a college if you want us to be able to give you any advice about deciding between the two schools.

stanford. it’s good in everything.

great weather …diversity…it’s amazing.

if you really want to have the ivy label then do dartmouth. however, stanford is ranked higher.

i’d suggest you ignore the part about rankings/prestige and really go to whichever school fits YOU better. think about going to a school for 4 years with miserable dread.

Well, I’m a Dartmouth 13. One of my best friends is heading to Stanford next year–and in comparing the two–Stanford is really the better school. I love Dartmouth, and I personally woudn’t choose anywhere else, but its really about how you feel about the school. Stanford is technically better–but go with your gut.

it depends on what you want to do. For finance and consulting, dartmouth is one of the best. But for grad school and anything not related to business, stanford undergrad is the better choice. But also, fit is probably most important.

for example, stanford has one of the largest campuses among u.s. colleges, and its focus is not necessarily on undergrads or liberal arts education. like everyone says, go with what fits you… or where you fit in.

Stanford vs. Dartmouth for undergrads:

Size: Dartmouth.

Location: Stanford. Both are beautiful, but Stanford isn’t as cold.

Dedication to Undergrad teaching: Dartmouth.

Sciences: Stanford.

Econ/Gov: Dartmouth.

Prestige: For UNDERGRADS there is a minimal difference.

I seriously doubt that Stanford is much better for graduate school placement than Dartmouth.
