Hey! I was very fortunate to get accepted at these two great schools and wanted to ask a few questions. If you can and know enough, answer these questions in comparison to UChicago.

1) Which investment banks heavily recruit at Dartmouth? How hard is it to get into a top BB for investment banking? I've heard that literally half your year will apply to the positions.

2) How hard is it to double major at Dartmouth? Specifically, I want to major in econ and double in either math, poli sci, or psych (I know it's a wide range).

3) Are you in the minority if you don't join frats? I would honestly say I'm a very likeable, sociable person, but I feel like I don't neccessarily need to join frats to make friends and good connections for later in life.

bump…anybody with good answers?

help somebody, please?

2) apparently not that hard, since the distribs (the actual required credits) you’ll need to fill up can be satisfied easily (you can use one class to fill multiple distribs), so you’ll have more time to take the prereqs for the majors you want

3) this has been brought up multiple times by both concerned parents and prospies. sure, greek culture is big at dartmouth, (40-50% of students are in a frat or sorority), but you definitely don’t need to be in one to have a great social life.

I’m a parent, but my D has gone through corporate recruiting twice, for internships though, not full time jobs (she is a junior). All of the top banks recruit at DM. In terms of is it hard to get a job, if you have a good gpa, some leadership, and some classes or activities that relate to the field, you stand a good chance of getting the interview. From there, it’s all you. I can tell you my D had an extremely positive experience with corporate recruiting and most of her friends did also.

Does BoAML actively recruit at Dartmouth? My family friend is an MD there, though I’m not sure if this connection will help me.

^Yes, they do. D has several friends working for them.

What about middle market banks?

Just as a heads up, I just came back from the UChicago admitted students overnight and really liked it. You Dartmouth people better impress me…

prepare to be amazed.
