Dartmouth vs. UPenn vs. Brown

Hi guys, I would extremely appreciate if you could tell me the pros and cons of each school as I'm weighing on which one to apply ED to. Just some background info. : I'm thinking of pursuing a business major but I do want options open in case I find out that business is not for me. I do want to apply to a school thought as prestigious and well respected (i know this shouldn't matter but i would really like to please my parents. Please don't bash.). Thirdly, I would like to be happy but know that my degree will open a lot of job opportunities for me. Here is what I have so far:

Dartmouth:
Pros: Lot of study abroad and it's encouraged (i would love to study abroad so if you know of any other school that encourages s.a please tell me!) ; has good Tuck MBA program so the classes must be good ; i can take a variety of classes ; Not that far from CT
Cons: Lots of Frats/drinking

Brown:
Pros: Close to home; I love the culture and people here! ; I feel like I would be happy ; open curriculum
Cons: Not as prestigious; kind of hard to get into ED esp. this year with Emma Watson being there; I have no idea of what i would study here ; there doesn't seem to be a lot of rich businessmen from this school?

UPENN:
Pros: Wharton
Cons: Unsafe surroundings; didnt really get a campus feel ; frat atmosphere like dartmouth but less; too urban not much shopping/restaurants around though like cambridge

Penn best for business. Campus takes a while to get used to.

This isn’t college search and selection.

Seriously, people need to lean the forums.

This is high school LIFE.

If you’re interested in business and want job opportunities, know that Brown has the worst business recruiting in the Ivy league. Scratch Brown.

You like Dart because of study abroad. Less than 20% of people at Wharton study abroad. You think Brown will be too hard to get in to. Wharton is on a totally different level and requires a HYP-caliber application. And if you decide you don’t want business your only option is to transfer in to CAS. Scratch Penn.

It really sounds like Dart is the best for you. After Harvard/Princeton/Wharton it arguably has the best placement in to top business jobs in the Ivy league. It might give off a liberal arts college vibe, but a surprising number of students go in to business and the most popular major is Economics.

^^ good advice. anymore?

frats/drinking can be a pro

I think Dartmouth sounds the best. You seem to want the LAC-y aspects such as strong study abroad and a great undergraduate learning experience. Dartmouth also adds in incredible recruiting. I think it seems like the most balanced option.

As a self-admitting Dartmouth alum, I feel that it is honestly the best fit. It excels at study abroad and offers a very tighknit college experience, which are things it looks like you like. Yet its recruiting is fantastic. I think its the most “balanced” option.

They all kind of stand alone. Dartmouth has found equilibrium between hard partying and hard studying. Students at Brown are known for being just generally awesome people. And UPenn has the prestige and resources to jump-start a career in business.

but will i fit into dartmouth if i’m a non-preppy minority?

If you have to ask strangers on a forum what school you should ED at, you probably shouldn’t be doing ED at all.

Dartmouth is actually on a percentage basis more diverse than Brown, and there’s a huge non preppy scene. That said, reading more it seems like Brown will be the best fit. The reality is that any of these schools will set you up for almost whatever you choose to do in life - if you think you will love Brown, go there.
