Which one's more prestigious and why? In particular, which one looks better to top Grad school admission committees? Thanks!

Both are prestigious, both are excellent colleges, both will give you a great education (if it is your desire to obtain one) and both will look equally well to Top grad schools and admissions committees.

In fact there is a lot of overlap and similiarities between the two schools and it is not unusual for there to be many students who end up choosing between both schools (my D was one). Personally I really like Williams and would have been more than please had D chose it. She decided to come to Dartmouth and her reason basicially came down to 2000 students vs. 4000 students.Your best bet is to visit, sit in on classes and make a decision of which one is best for you.

These schools are very close to equal in terms of grad school placement as confirmed by the WSJ survey. I have met more people who were accepted @ Dartmouth & rejected @ Williams than the other way around, but not sure that's universally true. Dartmouth may be a little better for job placement since it's larger (but not too big), a little more well known and the fact that a higher % at Williams go on to get a PhD than at Dartmouth.
