Make the freshman housing better and more modern
Replace the president would be good start :-S
Change the administration culture. It should be a student and faculty first not students and faculty last institution like it currently is
Open admissions ???
I’d get rid of the Greek system and have residential colleges instead.
^^Same here. Frats are a blight on the school.
Would appreciate a further explanation of the comments by @Darthmouth20 and @aoeuidhtns
“Replace the president would be good start” what’s the issue with the president?
"Change the administration culture. It should be a student and faculty first not students and faculty last institution like it currently is " what does this mean?
There is a lot of administrative bloat, and the president is not up to the job.
@AboutTheSame can you provide any specifics on his points of failure or inadequacy? If I recall correctly, he institute the no hard alcohol policy (has that had any impact?) and initiated the steering committee on sexual misconduct (it’s concerning how prominent this is on the website - implying this was a major issue). Has anything changed for the negative since he took over 5 years ago? Anything improved?
Administration bloat is clearer - I assume he’s not a good executive in terms of efficiency.
He’s not a good executive in terms of anything. You can find details galore [everything from poor hiring decisions to making it difficult for faculty & students to connect because of parking issues] here:

Use the search function on the right to focus on Hanlon; you will still of posts to go through.
Joe’s views are not shared by all, but he loves the College and has its best interests at heart. I don’t think I can say the same about Hanlon.

Dartmouth '19 here, getting rid of the greek system at dartmouth would truly be one of the worst possible things for the school finically, socially, or otherwise. Not only would millions of dollars of alumni money cease, but the social scene would become an absolute cesspool, such as what exists at the likes of middleberry/bowdoin (i.e. boring, run by offcampus athlete houses, ridiculous rates of unreported sexual assault, etc, etc). The most important thing that truly needs to change at dartmouth is the administration and it’s bloat - all they care about is their jobs and the reputation of the school. With this in mind, it’s obvious why they’d want to get rid of dartmouth sponsored greek system: you wont be able to stop college kids from drinking, but if you take the college’s name off of it, it looks a lot better. In fact, dartmouth’s frat system operates unlike any other I’ve seen across the country and is miles removed from something of a SEC state school frat scene. Rather there’s a plethora of vibrant houses filled with members of all different colors, backgrounds, hobbies, academic interests, each of which is open to the entire school on any given wednesday, friday, saturday going out night because that just the kind of community we have. Get rid of this, and all drinking will get moved off campus, SNS (campus police) will have NO jurisdiction which means no safe rides/good sams, title IX will not be able to protect students, and aside from athlete/rich prepschool kid off campus houses running the scene in hanover, students will have to drive down to White River Junction to go to a bar (no real bars in hanover) and drunk driving incidents will skyrocket.
