Dartmouth Wins National Championship in Men's Rugby

TheDartmouth.com: Men’s rugby defeats Army in National Championship

The game was nationally televised and I watched it. Dartmouth crushed West Point. It wasn't particularly close. What was more surprising was getting to watch Dartmouth sports on TV; we don't get much of that here on the west coast.

In an interview before the game, the coach of the national team said they would be considering some of the Dartmouth guys for the Olympic team. After a long hiatus, rugby is returning as an Olympic sport.

Yeeee…my friend plays rugby for my school and wants to go to Dartmouth. After seeing this, though, I’m a little doubtful of his chances.

Small nit: Big Green won the 7’s.

California won what is considered the collegiate championship. Go Bears!

^^Hey, whether it’s 7s or 15s, a national championship is a national championship. Rowers compete in both 4s and 8s, and when a team wins the 4s competition in the Olympics they still get gold medals.
